The Lady of Salem, a unique, public maritime-arts festival in downtown Salem, Massachusetts, spearheaded by the Salem Beautification Committee (The B-Comm), hails the city's resurgence as New England's original Port of Culture. Through the strong volunteer efforts of the The B-Comm, this unique collaboration promoting the downtown area as a dynamic arts, entertainment, dining, shopping and overall cultural destination in New England, was recently awarded a grant from the Salem Cultural Council.* This nautical influenced street-art collaboration celebrates Salem's rich maritime history, showcases a diverse local arts community, promotes downtown businesses and benefits the community at large, along with future beautification efforts.
